'Porthmeor Beach is a truly magical place. St Ives is considered to be the 'jewel of the South West' and the sandy shoreline of Porthmeor is a haven for surfers and a firm favourite with families looking for a fun day out by the sea.
An expansive stretch of clean, crisp golden sand makes for a beautiful location and is perfect for hitting the surf, making a splash in the shallows or just lying back and soaking up the atmosphere.
The Porthmeor Beach Café is at the very heart of the beach.
A fully licensed venue offering an imaginative menu of traditional and contemporary dishes from breakfast and lunch through to evening dining, with snacks and drinks also available to take away.
Beach chalets are available to hire by the day or longer, with boogie boards, surf boards and wetsuits available to buy or hire from the
Surf School.
Porthmeor Beach is a Blue Flag Beach with fully trained lifeguards patrolling from Easter to the Autumn, with showers and public toilets available to all.
The backdrop of the beach is the spectacular Tate St Ives gallery - a world renowned cultural destination and a must for any visitor to
St Ives and Porthmeor Beach.
